In the past couple of years the car market has evolved more rapidly than ever before. Electric vehicles, Autonomous driving and everything in between is transpiring faster than anyone could anticipate. In a more and more sterilized society, solely driven by the purpose of effectivization the everyday life, the hopes of introducing new exciting petrol powered cars seems to be fadening away at an alarming rate. What happened however would prove the world is wrong. In 2015 Porsche introduced their most extreme Cayman to date.

Performance and Specifications:

Porsche Cayman GT4 is powered by a 3,8 liter Flat-six cylinder engine, delivering 385 horse power. It does 0-100km/h, (0-60mph) in 4,4 seconds. These stats might not sound of much, and it is not meant to be that way. It is meant to go around corners faster than it can go in a straight line, and that is what makes this car one of the greatest in current production. The only option of a 6-speed manual transmission makes the Cayman GT4 even more preposterous and fantastic at the same time. It gives the car the final touch of perfection.

“The combination of a lightweight chassis and high level of stiffness along with aerodynamic efficient upgrades to the entry level model, is really what makes it a car like no other”.

The car is produced and developed by Porsches own racing department which is why nothing is left unnoticed. To illustrate the impressive work done by Porsche, the Cayman GT4 is capable of lapping the mighty and frightening Nürburgring race-track in just 7 minutes 40 seconds, placing it alongside the older but more powerful Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, that funny enough have 640 horsepower. With the rumors on the further development of the Cayman GT4 leaves many interesting questions. How fast can it potentially go and is it just the beginning of something great?

The characteristics of the GT4:

It is the characteristics of this car that talks to the people, and why is that? The love for analog feedback is more and more appreciated in the developing and automated world, where these kinds of cars are becoming increasingly scares. So producing a car like this one, really brings the joy back to the person behind the wheel. The fact that it does not make any sense at all other than in corners on a racing track seems to be that one thing people love about it. It is an authentic drivers car, in the full sense of the name. It should be obliged by the government for everyone to try one. It puts a smile on everybody’s face, and it would sure solve all the problems in the world. That is a fact.

Porsche Cayman GT4 is created with a specific purpose and that is for going very fast around a race-track. Specializing in track conditions for a original market sales price back in 2015 of “Just” 74.800 Euro or 85.600 dollars, makes it an entry track day car that everybody can enjoy. The high level of driving satisfaction and capability lays the true foundation for thrill and excitement throughout the whole experience.

It does not matter whether you go for a quick Sunday stroll or practicing to become the next Formula one world champion on the most difficult of tracks, It delivers even more than you can expect. The pictures hardly reveals any of its real capabilities so you could argue it is a sheep in wolf clothes. The pictures in this article is provided by the great Falcao_cars. Investment potential:

Having discussed the eccentric potential of the wonderful Porsche Cayman GT4, we cannot forget the most attention-grabbing part of this articles which is what the prospect of the future might be in terms of investment. Based on serval indications in the market and different factors of change in production, the market is seemingly only going in one direction. Based on opportunistic investors and a growing interest in older and or newer more analog cars, the prices has went on an upwards trajectory throughout the last couple of years, and it does not seem to stop anytime soon.

As I have addressed in my previous articles, this phenomena is covering broad segment of the market and is also affecting the price of the Porsche Cayman GT4. But how much, and does it have potential to grow even more? That is an exciting question, and not something that can be said with certainty. Looking at the current market and prices for a good to great condition Porsche Cayman GT4 is around 89.000 Euro (100.000 dollars) with 20-30.000 kilometers on it Mobile.de/Porsche Cayman GT4.

A used Porsche Cayman GT4 from 2015-2016 with a low mileage has increased approximately 84% in this 6 years-time. Having a Cayman GT4 in perfect condition with similar options will undoubtably have experienced an even higher increase in price, in the same period of time. Based on these price indications, it seems to have been a relatively good investment, with both joy on and off the track and in from an economical perspective as well. The future indicates even better returns on profit even with regular track use. It is car that is built for the track after all.

 Conclusion on the GT4:

This car is unarguably going to be one of the all-time great Porsches, and with the brand new release of the Porsche Cayman GT4RS, the original GT4 from 2015 was the start of something legendary. The question is not where it will end, but when it will end. The takeover of the electric cars seems to gain the upper hand in the long term perspective, so when this production of legendary analog race cars will end, it will be a very sad day indeed. Being able to witness these cars at its prime is magnificent.

The Porsche Cayman GT4 is a car everybody should have in their dream garage and is a car like no other. If you seek comfort over performance this car is not something for you. It is built for a race-track and this is where it genuinely comes alive. The price seems relatively low compared to the level of joy it delivers, but is still relatively pricey if you’re looking for something with the same power.
